Your household finances stay private.

Owned by a CPA

A certified public accountant is licensed, examined, and bound by a written code of professional conduct. That code puts client confidentiality at the center of the relationship. When you work with My Household Budget, you are working with a firm whose owner accepted that duty as a condition of the license.

My Household Budget is owned by a CPA. Confidentiality is not a courtesy and it is not a slogan. It is a professional duty. The people who trust us with bank accounts, credit cards, bills, and a picture of their wealth are entitled to know that their information is treated as confidential from the first conversation.

Security & Access

How is my data secured?

Your financial data is protected using industry-standard, 256-bit encryption and stored in secure, SOC 2-compliant data centers. We use multi-factor authentication for all account access and follow strict data backup protocols to ensure your information is always safe and recoverable.

Who has access to my accounts?

Access is strictly limited to professional team members directly assigned to your engagement. Every staff member is certified and bound by a rigorous confidentiality agreement that mirrors the CPA professional code of conduct. We never outsource your sensitive financial records.

Professional Duty & Legal Standards

The AICPA Standard

The AICPA Code of Professional Conduct (ET section 1.700.001) states: A member in public practice shall not disclose any confidential client information without the specific consent of the client.

We treat all non-public information obtained from the client as confidential. When federal, state, or local rules are more restrictive than the AICPA Code, we follow the stricter rule.

The California Standard

California Business and Professions Code section 5063.3 requires written permission for disclosure of any confidential information obtained by a licensee in their professional capacity.

The California Board of Accountancy reinforces this protection, extending the duty of confidentiality to both existing and prospective clients from the very first contact.

Even first calls and initial lists are protected. If you have questions, we invite you to reach out for a private consultation.
